AP Statistics is the College Board's introductory, non-calculus course in the practice of statistics — the science of learning from data. Across nine units it teaches four big ideas: exploring data with graphs and numbers, designing sound samples and experiments, reasoning about randomness with probability, and drawing conclusions about populations through statistical inference. This journey walks the whole course in ten stages, from the shape of a single distribution to confidence intervals, significance tests, chi-square, and inference for regression — ending with the free-response and Investigative Task strategy that decides the exam.
